Race and policing in America – free public event, Sept. 27

The Black Lives Matter movement and many recent events have called attention to the deep distrust that many minority communities feel towards the police departments that serve them. At the same time police around the country feel besieged as targets of camera phone crusaders and a 24-hour news cycle.

The Foley Institute brings a panel of experts to WSU to discuss race and policing in America, featuring:

  • Lorenzo M. Boyd, University of Maryland Eastern Shore and President of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences
  • Captain CP Taylor, Tacoma Police Department
  • Phillip Tyler, President, NAACP Spokane
  • Dale Willits, WSU Dept. of Criminal Justice & Criminology

Tuesday, September 27 | 4:30 p.m. | CUB Auditorium
