Queer Archives call for submissions

The WSU Queer Archives invites artists and community members to submit work and materials for an upcoming exhibition at the MASC exhibition space on the WSU Pullman campus. This exhibition is seeking artwork and historical ephemera that speaks specifically to queer history and experience related to the Palouse region of Southeastern Washington State. This exhibition will attempt to speak to, complicate, and expand upon both categories — allowing for a wider and more transformative narrative of queer history and experience in this region.

Accepted ephemera includes photographs, 35mm slides, VHS or U-matic video cassettes, 8mm or 16mm film, journals, posters, and booklets — and may be related to activism in the region, community events and organization, personal relationships, and correspondence.

Accepted artwork include but are not limited to drawings, photographs, screen prints, woodblocks, unstretched canvas paintings, digital art, etc. — and may be visually related to the area and/or made within the context of living here. Artwork should be 2D and unframed.

This exhibition is in collaboration with the WSU LGBTQ+ Center and the Libraries Manuscripts, Archives, and Special Collections.

Submissions accepted until March 3 at 11:59 p.m.
