Physics and Astronomy Colloquium: April 23, Dr. Zhi-Gang Yu

All are cordially invited to attend a Department of Physics and Astronomy colloquium featuring Dr. Zhi-Gang Yu, ISP/Applied Sciences Lab, WSU.  Dr. Yu will present his talk, “Spintronics and Organic Materials” on Wednesday, April 23rd, at 4:10 pm in Webster B17.

Meet Dr. Yu and share in refreshments, 3:45-4:10 p.m. in the foyer on floor G above the lecture hall.

Abstract:

Spintronics exploits electron spins and is a rapidly growing field because of its broad applications and the associated fascinating science, which connects electrical transport, magnetism, and optics coherently. The field has greatly expanded from metals to semiconductors, and very recently, to organic materials. In this talk, I will discuss some fundamental spin-related properties in semiconductors and particularly organic semiconductors as well as our research on them.
