PEBB Eligible Employees: Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Special Open Enrollment for Same-Sex Married Couples

Employees with a same-sex spouse have a Special Open Enrollment election opportunity for the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for 2013. This is due to a recent change in the legal status (for federal tax purposes) of a same-sex spouse. Based on this change in legal status, employees with a same-sex spouse have a 60-day special open enrollment period (measured from September 16, 2013 through November 14, 2013) to either enroll in a Flexible Spending Account or increase their 2013 election amount, if they are already enrolled. Dependents do not need to be enrolled in PEBB medical coverage for employees to claim reimbursement with FSA dollars.

Visit hrs.wsu.edu/FSASOE for details on this opportunity.
