Panel on reducing food waste and facilitating food recovery at WSU

WSU’s Center for Civic Engagement and Common Reading Program invite you to attend a Public Square Panel on WSU’s efforts to reduce food waste and encourage food recovery on Wednesday, April 2, from 3–4 p.m. in Butch’s Den (CUB lower level). Every year Americans throw away nearly 60 million tons of food; that’s nearly 40% of the entire U.S. food supply that ends up in landfills. However, WSU is addressing this issue on the Pullman campus in many ways that you may not be aware of. Come hear panelists from Waste Management, Dining Services, the Cougar Food Pantry, and the Center for Civic Engagement share their work on initiatives that are making significant progress in addressing food waste behind the scenes across our own campus and community. This is good news to know about, to support, and to celebrate!
