Ku-Ah-Mah and the Native American Women’s Association (NAWA) will host the 41st annual Pa-Loots-Puu Powwow in Smith Gym on Saturday, April 15. This is a one-day social powwow with grand entries at noon and 6 p.m.
Ku-Ah-Mah’s mission is to create Native American awareness and recognition on campus and throughout the community. The annual Pa-Loots-Puu Powwow is one of the major social events the group, along with NAWA, puts on during the year to provide an opportunity to learn about Native American culture. It’s also a way to honor the seniors graduating in the spring.
This year’s gathering will showcase host drum Wild Rose, and head dancers Wetalu Henry and Lucas Thomas. There will be a potato dance and tiny-tots special.
Vendors will be in attendance with Native American arts and crafts available for sale. Fry bread and drinks will be available at the concession.
