Read a good book on leadership and social justice lately? It’s time to nominate the tenth Common Reading book, to be used by thousands of students in first-year classes across the university in 2016-17!
Nominations are open Sept. 1 thru Oct. 15
In line with this year’s book—Just Mercy, by Bryan Stephenson—the next book must also align with the two-year Common Reading Theme of “leadership and social justice.”
“It was decided that following a theme will help focus the scope of nominated books as well as build topical momentum not only in classes but also in terms of the robust programming of guest-expert lectures, events, film showings, and more that have come to characterize the Common Reading Program,” says Susan Poch, co-director of the program and assistant vice provost.
Submitting nominations is easy for everyone, thanks to an online form at https://CommonReading.wsu.edu/nominations. Or, people can copy the nomination questions and submit answers using email, as directed on that webpage.
