New contacts layout in Outlook on the web

Microsoft is scheduled to implement an updated contacts experience in Outlook on the web between mid‑January 2026 and mid-March 2026.

This update will impact WSU users who manage or view their contacts in Outlook through a web browser. The contacts experience in the Outlook desktop and mobile applications will remain the same.

When signing in to Outlook on the web and opening the People tab, users will notice a redesigned, multi‑column layout and improved search functionalities.

As part of this update, Microsoft will also begin displaying organizational profile data within contact details and automatically linking duplicate contacts.

The new contacts experience will be enabled automatically for Outlook on the web, and requires no action from WSU users.

For any questions regarding this Microsoft change, please contact Crimson Service Desk at crimsonservicedesk@wsu.edu or 509-335-4357.
