Network outage, Dec. 21 and 22

As part of the Wide Area Network (WAN) project, Information Technology Services (ITS) will be replacing Pullman border equipment, resulting in several complete internet outages beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, until 2 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22.

The full maintenance window is reserved for this scheduled work, with non-service impacting staging starting at 6 p.m., and service impacting work beginning at 8 p.m.

This work will affect all processes dependent on WSU Pullman resources. This includes, but is not limited to, myWSU, Workday, email, authentication, VPN, internet connectivity, and phones for external calls. Technical teams do not expect this maintenance to impact Canvas as the Learning Management System (LMS) does not rely on WSU Pullman resources.

With this work impacting phone functions, ITS recommends all users carry a mobile phone when on campus during this maintenance in case of emergency. If a 911 call is initiated during one of the above noted outages, the call will not complete.

Please contact the Crimson Service Desk via email at crimsonservicedesk@wsu.edu or phone at 509‑335‑4357 for any questions.
