Medical Humanities Symposium, “Poetry and Practice: Perspectives on Medicine and Narrative”

Please join us April 6 at 3 p.m. in the Honors Lounge for the symposium, “Poetry and Practice: Perspectives on Medicine and Narrative.” Poet Katie Price will read from her work Sickly, and discuss the problems medical narrative presents to those with chronic illness. Physician Judy Swanson will explore the connections between physical examination and artistic observation. Their presentations will be followed by a mediated conversation concerning the relevance of narrative, art, and poetics to medical practice.
