At 12 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, Sumin Jin, Associate Editor at Nature Communications will present, “How to Produce Impactful Research—Behind the Scientific Publishing.”
This talk aims to unmask the publication process from the perspective of an editor at a Nature Portfolio journal. She will discuss the challenges in assessing the impact of research output, the aspects editors look for during the initial assessment, and how to best communicate your work to the editor and reviewers – and ultimately the readers. Jin will also walk through the stages of peer review, from how editors select referees, to how we make decisions.
Sumin Jin is an Associate Editor at Nature Communications, where she handles content related to materials science, focusing on metallurgy and structural materials. She received MS degree in Materials Engineering at McGill University and PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research background spans from small-scale mechanics and carbon nanomaterials to applied materials
