Mainframe services outage on July 20 for Disaster Recovery Testing

A mainframe services disaster recovery test is occurring beginning at 6 p.m. on July 20 and concluding by 6 a.m. on July 21. During testing all mainframe resources will be unavailable; however, testing may not require the entire scheduled period.

What is the issue?

Testing of transition from WSU’s hosted mainframe resources to our designated mainframe backup resources. Verifying accessibility to mainframe services following transition. Once communication is established with the backup site, and operations are tested and verified, services will revert back to primary production environment. No data on the production mainframe system will be modified.

Who/What is affected?

All mainframe resources and job submissions dependent on mainframe resources will be unavailable.
