Lucky Iron Fish presentation by Kathy Beerman TODAY

Kathy Beerman, professor and researcher in the School of Biological Sciences, will discuss her research and volunteer efforts in Guatemala in a special, no-charge public presentation:

WSU students accompany Beerman and Ana Maria Rodriguez-Vivaldi, associate professor of Spanish and American Studies and associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, on 10-day medical missions associated with Hearts in Motion over WSU’s spring break period to the Central American country.  Their goal is to lower the prevalence of iron deficiency anemia in rural, impoverished regions.  Persons with iron deficiency anemia are given a Lucky Iron Fish to use when preparing family meals. What has been the impact?

The presentation is hosted by the WSU Undergraduate Research Club and the Office of Undergraduate Research.
