Long-Term Disability Insurance open enrollment and presentations

A special Long Term Disability (LTD) Open Enrollment period will be running March 1 through 31, 2019, with changes going into effect May 1, 2019.

This is a one-time opportunity to enroll in the optional LTD insurance and automatically be approved for coverage without having to go through medical underwriting. If you have not previously enrolled in LTD coverage, or would like to decrease your waiting period to as low as 90 days, we encourage you to take advantage of this open enrollment period.

If you currently have optional LTD coverage, and do not want to make any changes to your plan, no action is required of you and your current LTD coverage will continue. Your current coverage information can be found in MyWSU under HR, Payroll, and Benefits, then Employee Benefits.

To learn more about LTD coverage, including general information and FAQs, visit the LTD Open Enrollment Post. HRS Benefits will hold presentations at the following times to explain the LTD benefit and answer employee questions:

  • Thursday, March 7, 2:30–3:30 p.m., 139 French Administration
  • Wednesday, March 13, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Lighty 405
  • Friday, March 22, 2–3 p.m., 139 French Administration
  • Thursday, March 28, 2:30–3:30 p.m., 139 French Administration

Videoconferencing is available for all presentations. To see if your location is already registered, visit the AMS Events Calendar. Additional site connections may be requested by email at AMS.Videoconference.Meeting@wsu.edu.

Questions may be directed to HRS Benefit Services at (509) 335-4521 or hrs@wsu.edu. Follow WSU HRS on Facebook or Twitter for updates.
