It’s not a question of “if” an earthquake will occur, but “when.” But what does this mean, what are the hazards in your area, and what can you do to be prepared for the imminent shaking? Many of us travel or live in “earthquake country” but don’t know about the earthquake hazards in Washington. Learn more about earthquake preparedness, the earthquake early warning system coming to Washington, and enjoy an opportunity to ask questions about our earthquake hazards.
Emergency Management from WSU and Whitman County are pleased to host staff from the Washington State Emergency Management’s Earthquake/Volcano Program. Earthquake specialists will be speaking about earthquakes in Washington and how we can prepare statewide. This FREE presentation will be Monday, Sept. 30, from 6:00–7:30 p.m., at the WSU Pullman campus, Smith CUE 203.
All interested parties (university staff or students, private businesses, county government officials, safety agencies, public health, fire, police, EMS, security, volunteers) are encouraged to attend and it is open to the public.
