November 4 in the CUB Auditorium at 7 p.m. Kristin Beck will be joining the students of the Student Veteran’s Committee to speak to the WSU students, faculty, and community members about transgender politics and her journey through the military as Chris Beck on the outside and Kristin Beck on the inside.
Kristin Beck is a decorated Navy SEAL that served her country honorably for 20 Years. Since Kristin’s retirement, she has flown around the world giving motivational and educational speeches. Her speech will be on Human rights, Psychology, Gender and Human Sexuality. In September of 2014, CNN released a documentary called, “The Lady Valor”. This film was a documentary done about her life in the SEALS and a secret she struggled with.
Kristin’s speech will touch on her life in the SEALs as Chris Beck and what it is like living her life currently as a Transgender/two-spirit.
