July 25 – Open Government Training (videoconferenced)

Representatives from the Washington State Archives and the Office of the Attorney General have proposed an Open Government Training session to be offered to WSU employees.  This session will take place on Tuesday, July 25 (1-4 p.m., FSHN T-101 and videoconferenced University-wide).

This training provides an overview of the rules and requirements of:

  • Records Retention and Management (RCW 40.14)
  • Open Public Meetings (RCW 42.30 and 42.32)
  • Public Records Act (RCW 42.56)
  • Best practices, tips and strategies, and updates to recent court cases and legislation
  • Changes affecting public records and training brought about by ESB 1594 and 1495 that will become effective on July 23, 2017.
