Julie Kmec (Sociology) will give a talk on racially segregated neighborhoods as part of this year’s Common Reading series at noon on Tuesday, September 28, via Zoom. Her talk, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor,” will focus on the origins of housing segregation, what it looks like now, and its far-reaching consequences. Zoom access for the event is available at https://wsu.zoom.us/j/96679921107.
Kmec’s talk is part of the year-long consideration of topics dealing with inequality, inspired by use of this year’s Common Reading book, the anthology Tales of Two Americas: Stories of a Inequality in a Divided Nation. The full calendar of events and activities can be found at https://commonreading.wsu.edu/calendar and on the Common Reading Presence site.
