Join the debate: China’s investment in US & Africa

“China’s investment in the U.S. and Africa: Economic opportunity or security risk?” The WSU Asia Program invites you to join the debate on Monday, Oct. 5, 4-6 p.m. in the Smith Center for Undergraduate Education (CUE) 203.

China is one of the fastest growing sources of foreign direct investment in the United States and major parts of Africa, bringing new jobs and opportunities to Americans and Africans alike. While Chinese investments are vital for economic growth, employment, and competitiveness, what are the security and economic risks?

International business experts will examine the implications in a nationally broadcast panel discussion at 4 p.m., followed by the in-person keynote address by Auria O. Styles, an experienced international business lawyer. Audience questions welcome at both events; seating is limited.
