Facilities Services, in partnership with Information Services (IS), has scheduled maintenance on March 14-15 to repair a critical transformer bank within the Information Technology Building. This maintenance will impact the data center and services provided from the data center. Basic essential services including Internet connectivity, email and the Pullman campus phones are anticipated to remain operational.
The maintenance window is scheduled from 8 p.m., Friday, March 14 to 8 a.m., Saturday, March 15. For this maintenance IS will begin powering down IS controlled servers and services at 8 p.m.; all departmental servers will need to be powered down by 11 p.m. on Friday, March 14.
Anticipated power supply down time is approximately four hours for this maintenance window; however, actual server and system down time will be longer due to the time needed to safely turn off systems prior to the power outage and then to restore service once power is fully functioning. During the power supply down time Facilities Services will conduct repair work on the ITB transformers.
