International Women’s Day at WSU

Today, come and participate in the I Billion Rising event being held at WSU to recognize International Women’s Day. The event will be held today from 4 – 5:30 p.m. in Butch’s Den, Compton Union Building.

I Billion Rising – the dance movement against violence and discrimination against women – is a powerful and universal appeal for change. This event will begin with global footage of I Billion Rising as it is celebrated world-wide, introduced by the WSU V-Day organization.

It will be followed with presentations by NIkki Finnestead, Violence Prevention/Green Dot Coordinator and Sowmya Murthy, Assistant Director of Diversity of Efforts, ASWSU who will discuss the topic from a local perspective.

There will be dancing, led by the WSU Recreation Center, in honor of the movement.
