University executive administrators have approved the following new University policy for inclusion in the Executive Policy Manual.

Text Messaging Policy EP36

This new policy:

—Provides requirements for mass/systematic texting to currently-enrolled students and currently-employed faculty and staff.

—Includes discussion of University records retention requirements applicable to text messages, and information regarding text messages responsive to requests under the Public Records Act.
