‘Imaging Neuromodulatory Signaling In Vivo’ — SPRC Seminar, Nov. 21, at 12:10 p.m.

The Sleep and Performance Research Center welcomes Dr. Haining Zhong, professor and senior scientist at the Vollum Institute at the Oregon State Health and Sciences University to WSU Spokane on Thursday, Nov. 21. He will be providing his seminar at 12:10 p.m., “Imaging Neuromodulatory Signaling In Vivo,” in SAC 347 and via Zoom.

Dr. Zhong’s lab develops imaging technologies and uses these technologies to study the cellular mechanisms underlying animal locomotion execution and learning. His lab has developed strategies, both based on mouse genetics and on CRISPR based gene editing, to fluorescently label endogenous proteins for live imaging without over expression. More recently, his lab became the first to achieve in vivo imaging of neuromodulatory signaling activities, including cAMP, PKA and PKC, with cellular resolution in the corte and the striatum of behaving mice.
