Hostile Terrain 94 workshop tomorrow, Jan. 24

Join us Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 3:30–5 p.m. for a public workshop about Hostile Terrain 94 (HT94), a participatory exhibition raising awareness about losses of life at the U.S.-Mexico border that have occurred almost daily since 1994 as a result of the Border Patrol policy known as “Prevention Through Deterrence.” HT94 volunteers attend workshops to record details for the deceased on identification tags, pinned on a map where remains were found. Writing invites participants to reflect and stand in solidarity with those who have passed and their surviving communities. HT94 will culminate March 2, when founder and anthropologist Jason De León visits the WSU Pullman campus for a series of programs and events.
