High-Risk Employee Workers’ Rights – Accommodations

On April 13, 2020, Governor Inslee issued Proclamation 20-46 High-Risk Employees – Workers’ Rights, amending Proclamation 20-05. The Proclamation provides high-risk employees, as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with certain accommodation rights intended to protect them from risk of exposure to the COVID-19 disease on the job. Additionally, the Proclamation provides employment and health insurance benefit protections. The provisions are in effect April 13, 2020 and expire on June 12, 2020, unless extended beyond that date.

See the HRS Disability Services High-Risk Employee Workers’ Rights – Accommodations website for information, resources and application materials.

Updates to information and resources are ongoing at the state level. The University is following the programs administration processes as the state develops rules and regulations for implementing the proclamation requirements.
