Between Oct 21 and Oct. 23, beginning each night at 8 p.m. and completing by 10 p.m., Information Technology Services is upgrading the Palo Alto Global Protect client to address a vulnerability in the Mac client. Used on six firewalls managed by Pullman ITS, all versions of the client will be upgraded.
Affected groups include all WSU Global Protect VPN users (Pullman, Spokane, and Everett). The schedule is listed below:
- Monday 10/21/2019 – Everett Border Firewall, ITS Staff Firewall
- Tuesday, 10/22/2019 – Holland MCF Firewall, Spokane Border Firewall
- Wednesday 10/23/2019 – Pullman Border Firewall, ITB MCF Firewall
Any users logged into the VPN when the change is implemented will be disconnected and have to reconnect to the VPN.
Users should upgrade the Global Protect client if/when prompted. Some users may already be running a higher version than the firewall serves up and thus will not be prompted to upgrade.
