Members of the WSU Cougar nation: get your Cougar creativity flowing, throw on your holiday apron, and create a gingerbread house for WSU’s first ever virtual gingerbread house competition Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 6 p.m.
Join in the fun as President Kirk Schulz and First Lady Noel Schulz compete against each other for the win! Carson College of Business Executive Chef Jamie Callison will judge the competition and award prizes for the best WSU-themed house and a variety of categories. To enter, take a short (45 seconds max), 360-degree video of your masterpiece and submit it by 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13. Tune in for the live event on YouTube.
Need inspiration? Join WSU alumna and Four Seasons Pastry Chef Francesca Siragusa, along with student instructors, Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. as they virtually demonstrate how to build and decorate gingerbread houses. Purchase a gingerbread house kit, gingerbread structure materials (suggested shopping list here), or bake your own house from scratch. The workshop will cover icing skills, decorative piping designs, and decorating ideas. Register for the class online.
