GIESO student scholarship

Applications are now open for scholarships for students active in fostering an inclusive and welcoming experience at WSU, including for members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. The President’s Commission on Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation (GIESO) will be awarding a $1,000 GIESO scholarship to a student for Fall 2026. Please complete the Washington State University online Scholarship application by Jan. 31 to be considered. Interested students will also need to submit the 2026 GIESO Scholarship Application by Feb. 28. This scholarship is available to all WSU students on any WSU campus. Applications will be reviewed in March 2026, and announced in early April 2026. The person selected will be recognized during the GIESO Spring Celebration in April 2026.

About GIESO: The WSU President’s Commission on Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation (GIESO) creates awareness and informs campus interactions pertaining to all LGBTQIA2S+ faculty and staff employed by WSU by gathering data, creating awareness, and working with our campuses to create a safe and welcoming environment for all people regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, ability, or nationality.
