Get Involved With Undergraduate Research – Enroll in the STEM Research Skills Course!

Interested in engineering and science research? Want to know how to get started working with WSU faculty? The Office of Undergraduate Research offers a “Research Skills Course” during the spring for STEM-focused students (in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). You must enroll in the one-credit, graded course (UNIV 497, section 13, “Peer Leadership: STEM Research Skills Course”), which meets during spring 2015 each Wednesday from 4:10-5 p.m. You will learn about academic research, gain skills that will be transferable to a research environment, and explore research opportunities at WSU in all STEM disciplines. Preference will be given to pre-certification students with intended majors in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Agriculture, and Pre-Health Sciences; students with fewer than 60 credits; and students who are interested in, but not yet working with, faculty on research. You must also email the Director of Undergraduate Research, Shelley Pressley, at spressley@wsu.edu with a one-paragraph description of why you are interested in getting involved in research on campus.  Include your name, intended major, and number of credits at WSU you will have earned as of the end of the fall 2014 semester.
