Foley events around the Trump presidency

The Foley Institute will be hosting a series of free, public events about the new administration beginning Wednesday, Feb. 1

The keynote event will be the Foley Distinguished Lecture, featuring Paul Pierson, John Gross chair and professor of political science at the University of California Berkeley, on “Trump and the Changing Political Landscape in America,” on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 4:30 p.m. in the Compton Union Building (CUB) Auditorium.

Pierson’s most recent book is “Winner-Take-All Politics: How Washington Made the Rich Richer and Turned Its Back on the Middle Class” (2010).

Other scheduled events, include:

Wednesday, Feb. 1, at noon: Coffee & Politics: “Race and the Trump administration” featuring Christopher Parker, University of Washington, in conversation with Paul Pierson, University of California Berkeley. [Foley Speaker’s Room, 308 Bryan Hall.]

Monday, Feb. 6, at noon: Coffee & Politics: “Conspiracy Theories are for Losers” with Joseph Uscinski, University of Miami. [Foley Speaker’s Room, 308 Bryan Hall.]

Monday, Feb. 6, at 4:30 p.m.: Media & Politics Symposium, cosponsored with the WSU Murrow College of Communication, on “Trump and the Media” with Scott McClellan, White House press secretary under President George W. Bush (2003–06); Matthew Eshbaugh-Soha, University of North Texas; Joseph Uscinski, University of Miami; and moderated by Porismita Borah, Washington State University. [CUB Auditorium]

Tuesday, Feb. 14, at noon: Coffee & Politics: “Trump and U.S. Foreign Policy” with Thomas Preston, Washington State University. [Foley Speaker’s Room, 308 Bryan Hall.]
