Learn how to bring the world into your classroom with a workshop on virtual technologies presented by WSU faculty members Adam Attwood and Ray Lee.
Attwood, a faculty member at the College of Education, will demonstrate how virtual art museums help integrate the arts across the humanities, as well as discuss assignment options that use computers and smartphones.
Lee—a marine biologist who works on the Pullman campus—will show how you can explore the deep sea through remote-operated cameras and instruments, and discuss how scientific discoveries are increasingly possible through Internet-based tools.
The presentation is 12:10-1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, in CUE 518. Lunch will be served. The presentation will also be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person.
The “Virtual Worlds” workshop is part of a series co-sponsored by the WSU Provost’s Office, WSU Teaching Academy and the Global Campus. Next on the agenda are a Nov. 18 workshop on “Liberating Structures,” with WSU faculty members Laura Hill and Davi Kallman, and a Dec. 9 workshop on “Writing as a Way of Doing,” with WSU Professor Victor Villanueva. All will be in CUE 518, and available by live-stream.
