Native American artist and storyteller Roger Fernandes will be at Washington State University to present a free evening of traditional Native American stories, Wednesday, March 11, at 7 p.m. in Bryan Hall 305.
Fernandes, an enrolled member of the Lower Elwha Band of S’Klallam Indians, has been a storyteller for over 25 years. He will be sharing myths and legends of tribes across the region, and exploring the lessons contained within, traditionally intended to teach values and provide guidance.
Fernandes has a degree in Native American Studies from the Evergreen State College and a master’s degree in Whole Systems Design from Antioch University in Seattle. His background includes art, education, and social work, all of which combine to shape his work and presentations.
