Environmental Economics Professor Thomas Sterner to give the Bertha C. & Roy E. Leigh Distinguished Lecture in Economics March 31

Dr. Thomas Sterner, Professor of Environmental Economics at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden will present “Making Climate Policy Feasible” Thursday, March 31, at 4 p.m. in CUE 203.

Professor Sterner is one of the world’s experts on environmental and climate economics. He is the former Chief Economist of the Environmental Defense Fund, served on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and is on the board of several environmental research organizations in Europe. He has published over 125 journal articles (including in Nature, Science, and top environmental economics journals), authored or edited more than a dozen books, written many policy reports for different governments, and disseminated the results of his research in articles at the New York Times, Le Monde, The Times, as well as hundreds of TV and radio interviews.
