Brief biography:

Dr. Fang “Rose” Zhu received a bachelor’s degree in Plant Protection from Shandong Agricultural University, and a Master’s degree from China Agricultural University. She received her PhD from Auburn Univ. in 2007 with Professor Nannan Liu in Insect Molecular Biology and Toxicology. Most recently she was a postdoctoral researcher with Professor Subba Reddy Palli at the University of Kentucky.  Her research efforts have focused on deciphering molecular mechanisms of pesticide resistance in a diversity of medically and agriculturally important arthropod species such as the bed bug, house fly, red flour beetle, Colorado potato beetle, and two spotted spider mite. She has published more than 30 research articles that have been cited around 695 times in the course of her short career in high impact journals such as PNAS, Nature Communications, BMC Genomics, and the Journal of Biological Chemistry. She has also been an active participant in many successful grant proposal applications, journal reviewing, symposium organizing and teaching.
