Email delivery to WSU impacted April 15

On April 15th at approximately 9 p.m., WSU email was impacted by an issue occurring with Proofpoint that affected email delivery from external senders to WSU recipients. This may have also affected WSU mail systems that use Internet routing for some WSU email addresses.

This incident was resolved by Proofpoint at 10:08 p.m., but due to the nature of the problem the effects extended beyond the original resolution time.

Problems with email delivery to WSU recipients should be resolved by now. The end result of this issue was that email sent to WSU recipients from off-campus senders might have been either delayed or bounced.

Bounced messages are not delivered and would need to be sent by the original sender again.
