Faculty and teaching graduate students should register now for the Aug. 16 system-wide ELEVATE conference focused on the theme of “Timely Topics to ELEVATE Your Teaching.” The agenda promises a keynote address, two presentations, and a panel discussion from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Zoom access is available to system-wide participants; in-person attendance is available at WSU Pullman that day.
The conference is planned by the Transformational Change Initiative in the provost’s office. This ELEVATE event is co-hosted with the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President and Learning Innovations.
The keynote address, “Instructors as Meaning Makers: Growth Mindset Messages That Support Stigmatized Students,” will be presented by Elizabeth Canning, assistant professor of psychology at WSU Pullman.
The morning features a presentation on “Teaching in the Time of AI: Practical Ideas for a Productive Semester.”
The afternoon features a panel discussion, “Mindfulness and Anti-Racist Modalities to Improve Learning,” and a presentation on “Syllabus Design for Engaging Learners.”
