Dining Services labels items containing sesame

WSU Dining Services has made it easier for people allergic to sesame to know which foods on its menus to avoid. A new icon appears near menu items containing sesame — whether it be sesame seeds, sesame oil, or tahini — on all digital signage in the dining centers.

Customers can review menu items for the top 9 allergens, as well as look for items that are Halal, vegetarian, or vegan, on the Dining Services website.

The Natural station located in each dining center is an allergen-friendly zone and excludes any items made with sesame and other top 9 allergens, and gluten.

For more information about ingredients or working around allergies that may or may not be part of the top 9 allergens, contact Dietitian Alice Ma for assistance.
