The Department of Psychology will host its annual Undergraduate Research Symposium on Friday, April 24. Posters featuring undergraduate research will be available for viewing between 12:30-5:00 pm in the CUE Atrium. From 3:00-4:00 pm, Dr. Martha Ann Bell (Virginia Tech) will give a guest presentation titled “Watching Children Grow: Using Questionnaires, Observations, and Brain Images to Understand Complex Behaviors” in CUE 203.
Dr. Bell’s research specialization is developmental psychobiology and her work focuses on individual differences in the development of executive function and emotion regulation from infancy through middle childhood. As indicated by her title, she uses multiple methodologies (questionnaires, behavioral observations, EEG, ECG) to study typically developing children and their families. A formal poster session and reception in the CUE Atrium will immediately follow Dr. Bell’s presentation. Undergraduate researchers will be present to answer questions about their research projects until 5:00 pm. All are welcome to attend.
