Dangerous Goods Shipping

With the new 2018 regulations out, are you sure what you are shipping is not considered a dangerous good.

Some of the commonly shipped Dangerous Good items here at WSU include:

  • Specimens that are collected directly from humans or animals even if they are not pathogenic or infectious.
  • Lithium batteries (phones, computers, radios)
  • Dry Ice
  • Chemicals
  • Bio-oils, fluids and solids
  • Genetic modified samples
  • Biological products, cultures

Regulation have changed, so if you are not sure, please call the dangerous good and hazardous material coordinator at 509-432-3869 and we will help you decided. Fines for shipping a dangerous good or hazardous material without labels or training have increased to $75,000.
