First Generation Abroad is WSU’s newest study abroad program designed exclusively for students who are first in their family to attend college. Although first-generation students can benefit most from the professional and personal development opportunities awarded through study abroad programs, they have some of the lowest participation rates among U.S. college students. With your support, first-generation Cougs will travel to Costa Rica this summer and have the opportunity to develop skills that can have a direct, positive impact on their grades, graduation rates, and employability.
This week the students are hosting a Cougar Jewelry fundraiser to help lower the cost of travel and make this trip a realistic goal. Please view the catalog of sterling silver and 24-carat gold plate jewelry and make a purchase in support of First Generation Abroad. A significant portion of each purchase will go directly to student costs of travel. Visit https://first.wsu.edu/first-gen-abroad/ for ordering information. Orders must be placed by November 7th for Christmas on-time delivery.
