The Rural Communities Design Initiative (RCDI) would like to invite you to review current projects at an open review on Wednesday, December 10, from 4-6 p.m. The review will take place on the second floor gallery in Carpenter Hall, Pullman campus.
Students from the fourth year Interior Design Community Studio will present work done in collaboration with LaCrosse Community Pride and community members in LaCrosse, Wash. on repurposing the historic rock houses on Main Avenue in LaCrosse. Proposed projects include a Bed and Breakfast, Visitor Center and regional geology museum, Youth and Senior Center, Micro-Brewery, Agricultural Education Center and an Arts Center. The second project presented will be designs and scale models of Little Free Libraries. Students and RCDI worked with the Whitman County Rural Library District librarians and community members in Albion, Palouse, Uniontown, Tekoa, Rosalia and Colfax on Little Free Libraries for each of their towns.
Students were supported by the Rural Communities Design Initiative and the WSU Center for Civic Engagement.
