Common Reading discussion on ways to use ‘How the Other Half Eats,’ June 12

The second in a series of opportunities to discuss strategies to use the 2024–25 Common Reading book, How the Other Half Eats, will be held on Wednesday, June 12, from 3–4 p.m. in CUE 518. Those interested in considering use of the book for a course or program are invited to come talk about their ideas with colleagues and are welcome to drop into just one session, or several, as meets their interests. The full series of discussion opportunities, including several Zoom options, is available in the Common Reading calendar of events.

The Common Reading website also includes links to a number of resources — a Teaching Guide, library guides, discussion questions, and a 2023 report on college student food insecurity in our state.

Thanks to generous funding from the Office of the Provost, all incoming first-year students on the Pullman, Tri-Cities, Vancouver, and Global campuses will be receiving paperback copies of the book. Information on faculty and student copies is also available on the Common Reading website.
