The Foley Institute’s Coffee & Politics Series continues with Anara Tabyshalieva, who will discuss: “The New “Great Game” in Central Asia.”
Lying at a critical juncture of east and west, Central Asia hosts competing impulses of global forces, and occupies a critical node in the strategic visions of Russia, the U.S., China, and others. Join us for discussion about the “Great Game” in Central Asia.
Anara Tabyshalieva is a professor of history at Marshall University, and serves as a consultant for the World Bank, UNESCO, and the United Nations Development Fund for Women. She has won many awards, including the UNESCO medal for her participation in their “History of Civilizations of Central Asia” project, as well as a certificate of honor from the President of the Kyrgzy Republic for her work promoting women’s rights.
Join us for pizza, pop, and interesting conversation. RSVP to relgar@wsu.edu.
