Coffee & Politics: Wildfires

The Foley Institute’s Coffee & Politics Series continues with a talk by WSU Professor Matt Carroll about the recent fires in the region.

Wildfires: What can be done?

Wildfires that burn forests and threaten human communities are hardly a new phenomenon in the American West. However, by many accounts the “Wildfire Problem” has deteriorated in the last decade. This talk will examine why that is so and suggest what fifteen years of research in communities threatened by fire has taught us. Join us for this informative discussion, pizza, and soda.

Matt Carroll is a professor and a natural resource sociologist at Washington State University.

Wednesday, September 9, noon – 1 p.m. Foley Speaker’s Room, 308 Bryan Hall, WSU Pullman
