Coffee & Politics: Social Media and the BLM movement, Jan. 26

The Foley Institute’s Coffee & Politics Series continues with:

Millennials, social media, and the Black Lives Matter movement

Charlene Carruthers is a youth activist and organizer. Her work aims to create young leaders in marginalized communities to fight for community interests and liberation. She was an integral member in the creation of the Black Youth Project 100, and has served as National Director or National Coordinator since the organization’s founding in 2013.

Thursday, January 26 | noon | Foley Speaker’s Room | 308 Bryan Hall

This event is part of WSU’s MLK Program, which seeks to engage the WSU community with a program that honors Dr. King, teaches about Civil Rights history, and connects to contemporary civil rights issues.  Charlene Carruthers is the keynote speaker for the MLK 2017 Community Celebration which will be held in the CUB Senior Ballroom at 6:30 p.m. on January 26.
