Climate Science on Tap explores urban forests with WSU researcher

The 2021 Heatwave was the hottest on record in the Pacific Northwest. In urban centers, boosting tree canopy cover is proven to keep cities cooler and help us adapt to a future of climate-induced heat events.

At the next Climate Science on Tap, 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, at Peddler Brewing Company in Seattle, join an expert panel for a discussion of climate change and our urban forests. Panel member Joey Hulbert, WSU postdoctoral fellow and founder of Forest Health Watch, will talk about his citizen science program as well as tree health research conducted at WSU Puyallup.

A Q&A session follows. Participants can learn how to get involved to save trees and protect communities. Tickets are free or by donation, and Proof of Vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 tests result is required to attend.
