Being a Coug is a privilege; being civically engaged is a responsibility; being the change is a commitment. Though the WSU Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) is committed to making change year round, during the week of April 19-25, 2015, the CCE recognizes the efforts of WSU students, faculty, staff, and community members to make a difference. Special events throughout the week include daily activities for students, public Earth Day events on April 22, a Public Square discussion on water conservation, the Leadership and Engagement Awards of Distinction (LEAD) featuring the President’s Award for Leadership on April 23, and the annual Campus on the Run 5K run/walk and obstacle course benefiting Backyard Harvest. Civic Engagement Week is the CCE’s time to thank those civically engaged Cougs and friends for all they have done and will do to make the world a better place and to inspire those who are just getting started.
