Washington State University Retirees Association will sponsor the program, “Palouse Country — A Photographer’s Paradise,” with WSU Professor Emeritus Ken Carper, at 1:30 p.m., March 25, in Lewis Alumni Centre’s Great Hall and via Zoom.
Carper, a registered architect and retired faculty member, taught structural design concepts to students in Architecture and Construction Management for 40 years. His research was related to Forensic Engineering — the investigation of engineering failures and lessons to be learned from them.
Carper always enjoyed photography, especially of Palouse landscapes, where the changing colors and shadows offer unlimited opportunities throughout the year. Since his retirement in 2010, he has been able to devote more time to his photography. His work has been published and has received national and international recognition. His website is at KenCarperPhotos.com.
In his presentation, Ken will illustrate why the Palouse region is one of the world’s premier destinations for landscape photography, attracting hundreds of professional photographers and internationally acclaimed workshops annually.
“It is a joy to live in Palouse Country and to explore its unique visual environment through photography,” Carper said. “We guarantee that attendees will come away with greater appreciation for this magnificent and peaceful place called the Palouse.”
