Humanities Washington speaker Carlos Gil will be giving two talks on immigration TODAY on the Pullman campus.
At noon he will be speaking in Bryan 308 as part of the Foley Institute’s “Pizza and Politics” series; at 4:15 p.m. he will be speaking in CUE 202 as part of the Common Reading series. In both talks Gil will be talking about immigration and American identity through the lens of his own family history. Gil is an emeritus professor of history at the University of Washington and the author of “We Became Mexican-American: How Our Immigrant Family Survived to Pursue the American Dream.” Event is cosponsored by the Common Reading Program, the Foley Institute for Public Policy and Public Service, and Humanities Washington.
