“Canvas or Blackboard?” tile added to myWSU

As previously announced, Information Technology Services (ITS) and Academic Outreach and Innovation (AOI) have opened the Canvas pilot to all non-Global Campus courses for the new spring 2021 semester. Though Canvas will become WSU’s sole Learning Management System (LMS) in fall 2021, it will run in parallel with Blackboard throughout the spring—meaning some students may end up with schedules that include courses on both Canvas and Blackboard.

To help students keep track of such schedules, ITS has added a new tile to myWSU that will help students easily identify which of their spring 2021 courses are on Canvas and which courses are on Blackboard.

The tile, labeled “Canvas or Blackboard?,” will appear on students’ myWSU home screens. Within this tile, students will find their complete spring 2021 course schedule, along with links to the Canvas or Blackboard courses clearly listed beside each entry.
